Progress

Five weeks in and I'm starting to doubt my creativity, but I'm not letting it get to me.
Progress

Project Storm continues to move forward.

I'm almost done refining the sonic palette and can confidently say that I'm close to 90% locked in terms of sound selection. Recently, I added:

  • A cinematic pad to glue the piece together
  • Refined the bass drum (thunder) hits
  • Developed a layered cymbal sound to represent the lightning

The last week has been slow, but progress is good. As I work to get story lock by the end of the week, the hard work of closing the 10% gap continues. That's when I move from "I like it" to "I love it," and right now I think I just "like it."

But, I'm not holding myself under too fine of a microscope. Project Storm started as an experiment, part challenge to myself to compose a piece in less than 10 weeks, and part content creation journey, documenting the process and sharing it with the world. Whatever I produce, in the end I know it will not be without meaning. But right now, in the middle of my own composition storm, I'm learning to embrace the micro moments of progress, refine what I can, and "like it."

The journey continues...
